If you ever come across seing your all folders are locked on Ubuntu, this may be a sign of damged hard disk but don't panic. In this occasion you may need to run a file system check on Ubuntu. For that you can use the following command on terminal.
sudo fsck /dev/sda1
Try running this command. This will try to fix the bad sector issues on your machine.
If you're experiencing frequent boot issues and errors on the machine even after running this command, it may be the time to check your hard disk. Backup your all files and folders and get your hard disk checked.
